Since 1997 the majority of Music SA’s programs have focused on disadvantaged South Australian youth through the CMP program, Musicians in Schools programs, Generating Rock, Sounds Live, Suneden Special School program and Come Out Activties. Music SA currently delivers free music programs to over 500 young people in SA secondary schools, focusing on at risk youth.

Through our work in disadvantaged secondary schools, special needs and remote and regional schools, Music SA provides mentoring opportunities for some of the states most needy young people. Music SA has a proven track record of providing real outcomes for at risk kids with a direct impact on engagement and retention with schooling. The SA music industry gives great support to Music SA and its programs, as these programs provide opportunities that can be the inspiration to get kids to stay in school and realise their potential for a career in the music industry.
